Today Supernutz's Jackson Witherspoon announced his intention to retire in the near future. His third place in the Giro di Sicilia was the right time, he deemed, to bow out of the professional peloton.
Jackson has been the captain of the Supernutz team for the past nine seasons. The 35 year old has an impressive list of lower division wins (19 in all)...but the highlights of his career would be winning Aberystweth - Llanelli (WT) in season 31, I Wanna Cycle and Racing High And Low in season 33, Giro di Sicilia, Stage 2 in season 36, and Giro di Sicilia, Stage 2 in season 40 (while finishing third in the GC).
Jackson was a great hilly sprinter, and was the first rider for Supernutz to have an incredible ability. He will be sorely missed.
